Mustard Payroll was established in 2000 and process the payrolls of hundreds of small and large businesses and charities in the UK. We are known for our flexible, personal service and our highly skilled friendly staff. Here at Mustard Payroll we’re keen to do all we can to ensure your payroll is managed exactly how you want it managed. You will have a single point of contact who will manage your payroll. Our business is built on recommendations from clients and accountants.
SERVICES
PAYROLL
We offer a fully managed payroll service. We can process any size or complexity of payroll for any industry. The payroll can be weekly, fortnightly, four weekly or monthly. We process your payroll quickly and accurately in the way that you ask it to be run. We provide a variety of summary and analysis reports which you can choose from. You can have the standard security payslips, plain ones with envelopes or emailed ones. We can make payments to employees via BACS using our BACS Bureau service. We issue P45s to leavers, send you forms for your new starters to complete and deal with any queries you or your employees have. We are always friendly and very quick to respond to any questions you have.
BOOKKEEPING
We offer a full bookkeeping service. This includes recording of all transactions through the business, such as supplier payments, card payments, cash receipts and payments in from customers. We submit VAT returns and prepare fully reconciled accounts up to the trial balance to hand over to your accountant for the year-end. We can chase your debtors, pay your suppliers and provide any reports through the year, including management accounts, debtors and creditor reports. We work with companies in all sorts of industries with turnovers of £50,000 to £5,000,000. We can charge an agreed fixed fee each month or charge by the hour for work done. We can be your full time accounts department, but for part time prices.
AUTO ENROLMENT
Every employer with at least one member of staff now has new duties, including enrolling those who are eligible into a workplace pension scheme and contributing towards it. We can help you set up the pension scheme. On each payroll we can assess the staff and enrol any qualifying employees, we then upload the data to the pension provider for you.
BACS
We can handle BACS processing via our BACS Bureau. This means that we can arrange for the payroll payments to be deducted directly from your bank account on payday and arrive the same day in the employees’ accounts. We can also add other payments, such as PAYE/NIC etc. Bookkeeping clients can use the service to pay their suppliers.
P11D
This is an optional service, where we can complete your return of expenses and benefits in kind on an annual basis. We use HMRC approved software to submit your P11d. All submission are made electronically to HMRC and you are supplied with a copy of the return and P11ds.
CIS
For companies in the construction industry – we can submit your CIS returns online each month, declaring any deductions that have been made from your suppliers. We can issue the statements to you to hand to the suppliers or we can send them out directly for you.

- Our services are priced according to the number of employees you have and how often it is run, not the complexity of your payroll. From the outset you will know exactly how much our services will cost you.
- We can say with confidence that the cost of our services is often less than running payroll in-house.
- When costing the running of your payroll in-house you should include not only the cost of your payroll software and staff but also overheads, holiday cover and recruitment costs, training, upgrades and stationery etc. All these costs are included when outsourcing to Mustard Payroll. This enables you to budget accurately the running of your payroll.

Yes, we have lots of experience with pensions. Once you’ve decided on a pension provider we can help you through the steps to your staging date and beyond. We can do as little or as much of the administration as you wish. We can deal with uploading newly enrolled employees to the pension providers website along with the contribution schedule.
We can assess your employees for auto-enrolment and then enrol them when necessary.
In most cases there is no setup charge – this applies to small payrolls. For larger payrolls who can only provide their data on paper or in a format which can not be transferred, we may have to charge a small fee to cover manually inputting the data.
This depends on how many employees you have and how often they are paid. You can also add additional services such as BACS payments and pension administration.
